I think that I, like many others, in in this world have made a fundamental mistake in judgement by believing that we were somehow above the laws of nature. Most specifically that of human nature. in believing that the rules of conduct as both individual and species somehow didn’t apply to our efforts. That somehow we alone knew better and took on the mantle of teacher or leader and served our own form of bitter medicine to the afflictions besetting our world as if they would serve to cure when in fact they may have made things worse. So powerful is an image when perfected by years of trial and error that it can by the very nature of its composition enact a sense of cynicism that effectively enlists attention rather than defies perversity. One tends to sink into their own mire rather than moving forward to try to escape it. Perhaps it is impossible to avoid the eventuality of one’s self in this regard? Or, one might hope that there is truly a biblical sense of spiritual evolution that affords the possibility of a type of innate awareness that keeps one from descending back into previous maelstroms of doubt and dubious behaviors? The ends at the end of any episodes do not justify the means of getting there. So much evil is depends upon humanity believing that the opposite is true. It is an inversion of principle worth fighting for for the sake of an underlying avarice that only feeds the egotism of solitary self. It is one thing to contain one’s own personal demons within but it is quite another matter to set them loose upon the world outside them.
It is a sad truth that everything that one strives to build must eventually be destroyed. We live in a world of dust accumulated by the dissolution of untold numbers of empires that have previously come and gone and now travel with the winds. It seems that only the present actions of the individual save or condemn them for the ages. Patterns and habits are charted by the application of the rudder of one’s character. Choices are hard as no one seems to have the luxury of a trustworthy avant to take them by the hand in the way that one’s parents might have in infancy. The terror of chaos comes not in what waits in the dark just beyond what our sense can define but in our sense of doubt about ourselves to successfully engage the unknown with confidence that our own actions are correct. This is what we relate to when some entity provides a tale of adventure that seems to follow the patter on our daily experience. It is hard not to fall into the expected emotions and judgmental outcomes that experts in the filed of mass manipulation set forth upon upon humanity. As an audience, we are told throughout the ages that we are conveniently chained in a cave and condemned to suffer misapprehension about the universe outside. But I say that we all make our own chains in life and carry them forth for others to see. This ignoble gift is set upon by others who have decided that there is no other way. But in my heart of hearts, I know that there is.
