What’s wrong here. It’s another debate. I really think that it’s high time that all these so-called news producers and their journalist clones should finally consider getting some fresh techniques. That over-worn talking heads bit where they pretend to sample a cross section of public opinion in convenient editing suite sound bytes screams ‘hackneyed’ so loud as to be a dead giveaway poker tell exposing blatant station bias. The evil twin of a role playing game where one of them asks a leading question under the guise of being the Devil’s advocate is equally painfully pathetic. So, what could they do to put some life into it? Or even make up something almost believable? Statistics really don’t sell much beyond that old staple of a headache begging, “Fast, Fast Fast Relief!”
How about a three ring, or more, circus! Well, isn’t it all that and more already? If you really want to portray what people think then how about a security cam lodged in the public toilet or in hotel rooms? Whoops! That won’t work considering the Erin Anderson ‘peek-a-boo‘ trial. Ok let’s revive the separate but visually equal of the classic Hollywood Squares treatment format he 1970’s? Well then you just give away the whole race to a reprise in popularity of Paul Lynde/Marco Rubio vs a Joan Rivers/Hillary Clinton match up? They might have to keep all the candidates indefinitely in the debate to not violate the spirit of the format? Well, there is always the ambush! But that is already that staple of these moderators who secretly think that they are assassins (AKA pundits) working their less than clever semantic tricks to try to gut someone anyone who could possible change things. Whatever happened to the old adage of, “A picture speaks a thousand words?” Check with ILM or PIXAR who have plenty of people freelancing making the images look like anything that they want.
There is that onus that ever so many modern Americans with contemporary technological savvy loathe to even consider. Look up articles of varying opinions from both inside and outside this land. Add up tallies of voting records of the candidates then obtain old Nexus Lexus YouTube footage of gaffs from previous speeches. But my God! That might interfere with football or basketball or hockey! But even worse, you might have to abandon too much time from computer game play! Or from I-phone projected movies or serial texting! I know that all this seems to obviate any possible solution. But then maybe it suggests one think outside the current box plant back a time at least a half century or more? Maybe clear out a bunch of high court ruling decisions that were more about legislating than supporting the existing laws as they were meant to be understood?
If you want to keep to quotas then maybe there ought to be a drastic reduction in the number of public officials with big influence and long standing dual citizenship’s. Those that are never challenged in their loyalties to send us here on a wayward destructive course every time. It comes down to is anyone of these players are always more loyal to their monetary success than to the principles that they hink about but never follow. It doesn’t matter to them as they have the electronic voting machines to stay put where they are. To them it’s just a game.
