What is the true measure of our ‘modern’ society in these troubled times where the doctrine of applying overwhelming force casually settles any disagreement that cannot be easily mitigated by bullying masquerading as quick compromise? For most of the world’s ‘civilized’ population it seems to be found lurking in the drone of their flat screen monitors or in the comfortable safe haven of the latest publicized triviality splashed liberally over the pages of social media. The never ending rain of orchestrated crisis is blunted by these emotional adjudicators helping to steer the official final judgment in the minds of the many as to the the relative state of all things reasonable. That matter of fact sameness of nightly happy talk banter enacted by local news teams offering their mercurial changes in Punch and Judy like expressions all conducted to the unseen tempo of the tele-prompter. And cascading down upon all ears as a torrent useful to disseminating government propaganda while repressing all possibility of independent thought or reason by virtue of that ever present threat of the crush of illusory popular consensus. The artifice purporting the latest infamy as presented onstage is routinely taken for incontestable fact. For no one dares to lift the curtain aside and risk revealing those scoundrels behind it pulling its levers to enact purposefully deceitful stratagems manufactured carefully to entrap. The hellish daily orchestra in the pit before the proscenium screeching out its freakish melody overwhelming common sense with parroted banalities for the useful idiots to mechanically tap out in time. Everyone rising up out of their seats upon command to applaud whatever infamy its devilish crescendo introduces. Yet, by the standards of the ‘normal’ cycle of contemporary life as it now is, this twisted performance seeming quite normal to most.
But what if one was to take stock of our current era and what is now considered standard practice by a different ruler from a former time? The notions of customary amorality of today as deemed ‘normal’ by the common dictates of the those faux sciences that routinely debunk traditional morals as aberrant though they have been practiced through the ages? If one were to sample those previous generations at an interval of a thousand years then compare them to our own, what scale of right and wrong would best apply? Which layer of civilization would freely offering proper justice and basic dignity to humanity as a whole? Would not our own time seem merely a facade of endless smoke and mirror gesticulating proper action but enacting its opposite? Would the namesakes of those groups who pretend to guide us be shown up as an corrupt elite that are indifferent to our plight being more concerned with rule us for the sake of their self-interest alone? What kind of moral doctrine can take away the right of people to choose their own way of life and then constantly tell them, “it’s for their own good?” Offering the population only punitive measures in the form of ceaseless waves of newer more restrictive regulations that only serve to confound the practice of normal life. The vast majority of average citizens struggling to adapt to an everyday siege mentality, all to thwart a well-publicized paltry few aberrant personalities? History when assayed many times over its long haul shows the color of imminent tyranny always lies behind times such as these. The greatest enemy of all common folk everywhere is their own willing complacency to be to be too easily lulled into these fables and surrender to the notion that there is nothing that they can do personally to stop it.
